Widely taught to young children in school programs, the recorder is very popular as a first instrument because of its ease of blowing, manageable weight and beautiful sound. It is a very good choice for young children and puts them in good stead to learn the larger wind instruments such as flute, clarinet or saxophone later on. Recorder repertoire is appealing to everyone however, and its traditional classical setting offers a world of beautiful and challenging music pieces for all levels and musical tastes. Come learn in a relaxed environment from a seasoned international performer and teacher. Individual or group lessons available.

Armenian duduk

Learn this beautiful instrument from Armenia, often called the armenian clarinet. Its haunting sound which can easily be mistaken for a viola or similar string instrument has in recent years become increasingly popular among music lovers and woodwind players thanks to its many appearances in hollywood filmscores (Gladiator is just one) It has a simple flute like body with open holes like a recorder and is typically made from apricot wood. The player blows through a cane double reed similar to that of an oboe, although much larger.

Other instruments and studies taught include:

Indian santoor
hand percussion
music theory
improvisation studies for piano, percussion, woodwinds
